Inaugural post

I’m setting up this site so that I have an outlet for writing stuff that doesn’t require posting it on social media. I’m increasingly convinced that that’s a bad place for it, and for anything. Perhaps this is will be less bad.

I’m not setting up comments or analytics on this site as part of a fun kind of experiment. I’m wondering if it will make it feel like more shouting into the void, or less? It’s kind of exciting to not even have a way of checking how many views or likes or reposts something has. What a concept.

It’s also kind of a fun technical exercise, I’ve built the thing in Hugo and I’ve got it set up to do a little bit of dynamic javascripty things so that I can throw together little game bits if I want, which I sometimes do.
